Yes, infrared heating is healthy and not harmful at all. Infrared heating has a positive influence on:

1. The air quality: dust does not circulate, which positively affects the airways. Therefore, it is beneficial for asthma and allergy sufferers. Less dust also means fewer house dust mites, which helps people with eczema and allergies. This improved air quality will also prevent allergy headaches.

2. Air humidity: Dry air can irritate airways and mucous membranes. Humid air, then again, can promote the growth of mould and mites. Residents of damp houses are more likely to get respiratory infections and asthma. Moisture can also make rheumatism worse. Infrared heating keeps the air humidity constant.

A healthy humidity level in the house is between 50-60% at a temperature of 18-22°C. For optimal indoor hygiene, the relative humidity should be at around 50%. A humidity level below 40% is too dry, 65% is too humid. In addition to people, animals, plants, furniture, parquet, and musical instruments also benefit from good humidity.

As the air humidity remains constant and optimal, infrared heating is ideal for the bathroom. Other types of heating can cause even more moisture in an already humid environment. Because infrared heating does not do this, there will be no condensation or mould in the bathroom.

3. Chronic pain: as previously mentioned, stable humidity can reduce pain. Heat, such as that emitted by infrared radiation, also has a beneficial effect on pain.

Heat is good for the body. It relaxes the muscles, so pain caused by tension or stress (such as neck and shoulder pain) reduces. Secondly, it promotes blood circulation in the body. Because the blood vessels expand, more blood flows to the muscles, promoting inflamed muscle recovery. Thirdly, heat affects skin receptors. These are in direct contact with the brain. Under the influence of warmth, the emitted pain signals diminish, which helps decrease your pain.
