Our Outdoor Infrared Heating

What does an outdoor infrared heater consume and cost?

The consumption of indoor infrared heating depends on: the size of the space (m²) you want to heat, the outside temperature, the insulation level of the house, the number of windows (glass is always a cold bridge), and the current energy prices.

Initially, both the investment cost and the installation costs are very low. Furthermore, you can expect a decrease of up to an average of 30 to 40 percent in annual energy costs. With solar panels, you can save even more on top of that.

In terms of energy consumption, we can say that our infrared systems save approximately 30 to 40% compared to conventional heating using electricity (accumulation), gas, or heating oil.

Other frequently asked questions about infrared heating

  • Is infrared heating suitable for use on my patio or balcony?

Yes, infrared heating is excellent for use on a patio or balcony. It provides direct heat that warms objects and people, rather than the air. This keeps it effective even in windy or low outdoor temperatures. There are models specifically designed for outdoor use, with splash-proof housings (IP rating) and easy mounting options, such as wall or ceiling mounting or freestanding.

When choosing, consider the heating range and size of your outdoor space to take full advantage of the heat.

  • Do I need to permanently mount infrared heaters or are there portable options?

It depends on your needs and the situation. Infrared heaters are available in both permanent and portable versions. Permanent heaters are often mounted on a wall or ceiling, ideal for permanent installations on patios or balconies. They are discreet and do not take up any floor space.

Portable heaters are flexible and easy to move, perfect if you want to use the heat source in multiple locations, such as in the garden or under an umbrella. Choose the type that best suits your use and outdoor space.

  • How fast does an infrared heater heat up?

Infrared heating heats up almost instantly. As soon as you turn on the heater, it begins to emit heat without the air having to warm up first. Within seconds you feel the radiant heat on your skin, similar to the heat of the sun. This makes infrared heating particularly efficient, especially for outdoor areas where quick and targeted heat is needed. This makes it ideal for patios, balconies or other open spaces.

  • Is an electrical outlet sufficient, or do I need a special connection?

For most infrared heaters, a standard wall outlet is sufficient, as long as the output is within the range of your power circuit (usually up to 2000 watts). More powerful heaters with higher wattage may require a special connection, such as a separate group in your meter box or a power outlet. Always check the heater’s specifications and consult an electrician if you are unsure if your current electrical system is suitable. Safety first!
